At that time, the Decatur School of Beauty Culture and the Champaign School of Beauty Culture were opened by early pioneers in the field of cosmetology education. In 1967, the Decatur school was purchased and renamed "Mr. John's. In 1998, Mr. John's expanded into West Central Illinois with the purchase of the Jacksonville site.
